Girls Crushing It is thrilled and honored to receive a generous grant from #startsmall! This support will allow us to continue our strategic planning for 2024 and beyond, expand our programming for girls from historically underrepresented groups, and equip Bay Area girls with the skills, leadership experience, and confidence needed on the path to economic empowerment. #startsmall is Jack Dorsey’s philanthropic initiative to fund global crisis relief, girls health and education, and open internet development. Dorsey—Block Head Chairman and cofounder of Block, Inc.—transferred $1 billion (28% of his wealth) to #startsmall in 2020..

OUR FOUNDING STORY

Sisters Christophe & Sophie Davis have a passion for entrepreneurship that dates back to 2017 when they founded an origami business with their besties (and business partners). After saturating the market at school, they set their sights on expanding to the local farmers' market. Inspired by their entrepreneurial spirit and determination, their mom, Roxanne Christophe, went on to found Girls Crushing It. Now, as members of our Teen Advisory Board, they play a key role in leading our nonprofit—alongside several of their original business partners, who continue to sell their products at our pop-up shops.
